GTA 6 Map Breakdown: Every Region in Leonida

Leonida: Potentially the Biggest GTA Map Ever

Based on official trailers and extensive community analysis, Rockstar's Leonida appears to be a sprawling, diverse open world that could dwarf anything the studio has built before. From the urban sprawl of Vice City to what looks like Everglades-inspired swamplands, every region seems to offer a distinct experience. Here's our breakdown based on what we've seen so far.

Vice City

The crown jewel of Leonida — and the one area we know the most about from trailers. Vice City appears to be a neon-soaked metropolis with distinct districts. Community analysis of trailer footage has identified what appears to be: a glamorous tourist beach strip (likely Ocean Beach), a corporate downtown area, culturally diverse neighborhoods reminiscent of Little Havana, and an industrial port area. Based on Rockstar's design philosophy, this is likely where most of the action will happen — heists, races, nightlife, and PvP hotspots.

Port Gellhorn

Leaked footage and trailer analysis suggest an industrial area south of Vice City, which the community has dubbed "Port Gellhorn." Shipping containers, warehouses, and dockyards could create a maze of cover for firefights and import/export operations. If it follows GTA V's pattern, expect some of the game's most lucrative business properties here. See our Properties Guide for our analysis of potential investment opportunities.

The Grassrivers

Leonida's answer to the Everglades. Trailer footage clearly shows vast swamplands, and leaked gameplay suggests a network of bayous and small islands. Wildlife appears abundant (and dangerous), and the isolation could make it perfect for off-the-grid activities. The community speculates some of the game's best easter eggs may be hidden deep in the swamp — a tradition Rockstar is known for.

Kelly County

What appears to be a rural heartland region has been spotted in trailer backgrounds and leaked screenshots. Small towns, farmland, and dirt roads suggest a stark contrast to Vice City's urban energy. Based on GTA V's Blaine County, expect this area to offer atmospheric story missions and a refuge when the heat gets too intense in the city.

The Coastline

Leonida's coastline appears to stretch extensively based on map analysis from trailer footage. Beach activities, boat access, and potential underwater exploration (Rockstar included this in GTA V) could make the coast a content-rich zone. Our Map Guide has our full analysis.

Exploring With a Crew

If Leonida is as massive as it appears, exploring it with friends will be the way to go. Co-op events, crew challenges, and the sheer fun of causing chaos together are staples of GTA Online. Find an exploration crew on our LFG board and get ready to discover Leonida together when the game launches.
