How to Find the Perfect GTA 6 Crew

Why Your Crew Matters
Based on everything we've seen from trailers and Rockstar's track record with GTA V Online, GTA 6 Online is being designed around cooperation. While solo play will likely be viable, the best content — heists, crew challenges, and territory mechanics — will almost certainly require a coordinated team. The difference between a good crew and random matchmaking is always night and day.
Step 1: Know What You Want
Before you start searching, figure out what kind of player you are:
- Grinder: You want efficiency. Heists, money runs, and minimum downtime.
- Explorer: You want to discover Leonida at your own pace with friends.
- Competitor: You want PvP, races, and rankings.
- Casual: You just want to hang out and cause chaos.
Knowing your playstyle helps you filter for the right group on our LFG board.
Step 2: Use the Right Filters
Our browse page lets you filter by:
- Activity Type: Heist, Mission, Race, PvP, Open World, or Other
- Platform: PS5, Xbox Series X/S, or PC
- Region: NA East, NA West, EU, LATAM, Asia, OCE
- Tags: Has Mic, Casual, Competitive, 18+, Beginner Friendly, No Mic OK
Pro tip: filtering by region is critical for low-latency gameplay. A crew in your timezone also means overlapping play schedules.
Step 3: Check the Tags
Tags tell you a lot about a group's expectations. "Has Mic" means they want active communication. "Beginner Friendly" means no judgment if you're learning. "18+" means mature content and language. "Competitive" means they're here to win.
Step 4: Post Your Own Group
Can't find what you're looking for? Post your own group. It takes 30 seconds, no account needed. Write a clear description of what you're looking for and include your Discord tag or gamertag so people can reach you.
Step 5: Build Long-Term Connections
The best crews aren't built in a day. When you find players you click with, add them on Discord or your platform's friends list. Over time, you'll build a reliable roster of players you can call on for any activity — and you'll be ready to hit the ground running when GTA 6 launches.
